The ski area Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn (Skicircus) stretches from Tyrol (Fieberbrunn) to the province of Salzburg (Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Leogang). As in 2015/2016, the ski resorts of Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang and Fieberbrunn were connected, it became one of the largest Austrian winter sports resorts. It was called “Skicircus” due to its location around the valley.

The best time to visit Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

If you want to go for winter sports in one of the resorts of Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang, or Fieberbrunn this winter, remember that February is the most snow-sure month. The average daily high figure usually reaches +3°C, while the average daily low drops to -7°C. However, the climate in this region is somewhat changeable, so we strongly recommend checking the weather forecast beforehand! The lowest figure ever recorded here in February is -21°C. As a rule, this region has a median number of 28 snowfall days.

Tip: Guests can practice on each side of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski area, but the slopes on the north side of the valley boast a higher number of sunny days. The runs of the south part are covered in shade, have deeper powder, and suit best for skiing in March and April.

In the light of the current pandemic, the Skicircus of Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn adopted new protective measures to ensure a safe vacation for all guests. The chiefs of the resort rolled out the COVID-19 Code of Conduct in compliance with the regulations of the Austrian Federal Government, which include new operational rules for ski lifts, restaurants, and public areas. The employees will be regularly tested in order to exclude any potential risks. You will also have an opportunity to book the Europäische Reiseversicherung – insurance, which includes coverage of COVID-19 treatment in case of illness. It will be offered as an optional variant while booking a hotel.

Another novelty that is worth mentioning is a Stopp Corona App, developed by the Austrian Red Cross. Those who received notification are obliged to monitor their health and maintain social distancing.

Here are some other measures, that were established for this season:

● Hand sanitizers will be available for use in each ski lift station;
● Frequently touched surfaces in ski lifts and public areas will be regularly disinfected with special detergents;
● The aforementioned disinfection procedures will be carried out in ski depots, first aid rooms, sanitary facilities, and elevator lifts as well;

● The opening events BERGFESTival and Rave on Snow will not take place this year;
● The ski resort will provide an opportunity to make rapid COVID-19 tests on demand. Guests can do it on any day, and the results will be ready within 15 minutes. In case of the PCR test, a waiting time will be around 2 hours;
● The minimal distance of 1 m must be maintained between strangers and distinct groups of people;
● Those who would like to buy their ski passes will be asked to pay contactless or make a purchase online;
In restaurants and bars, there will be a limit on the number of people that can sit at one table.
